These pants are very well made BUT .... I am a 30 inch waist so I ordered a Medium. Out of the box the elastic was too tight and the legs about four inches too long. I also ordered a small just to cover the fit. Those are going back too. Consider whether or not you care to spend additional dollars for alterations. In addition, one reviewer made an excellent point regarding the one closure button being too big for the button-hole. However, being that the waist is elastic, the pants can be pulled up without unbuttoning. The stiffness and sheen of the fabric looks and feels like more than 40% poly. Shopping online for clothing is a gamble. Thankfully Amazon tries its best to make it as painless as possible.I bought these for my 94 year old dad. He is losing weight so I thought the elastic would be great!! Unfortunately, he wouldn't even try them on. They seemed to be made of nice jean fabric.I have ordered these pants before so knew what to expect. They were a cuff to long so fixed them. Yes, they have wider legs, yes they are light weight. From the front they look more fitted than from the back and that doesn't seem to matter as much as the other benefits. The pockets are large and easy to access. The zipper is long so the opening is wide. He generally wears a medium length pant and I thought I would have to hem these but they are ok...a bit long but not a problem. The only thing we struggle with a little is the button closing. Even I have to work at it. This is because the elastic is so strong and stretchy (a good thing) that it is hard to pull them together to button. Also the button hole is tight. I have tried to convince him to just pull them down like sweat pants, which would work, but it doesn't work in his mind for pants with a zipper. OK! I might change to a heavy-duty hook. These pants look nice and I will be ordering more in other colors. The zipper seems extra long and that is great for ease in getting the pants on. Obviously, we open the zipper for getting them on and off. The description says the length of the pants - and it is right on. For my husband that is too long, but we are "cuffing" them for now. They are lighter weight. My negative is that they don't look that sharp after washing.
