I am discussing men’s shoes, which is what I have been buying. Mephisto is in a class all by itself, particularly in the sneakers category. I don’t think you can compare any other brand to them. They are so perfectly comfortable, and they look fantastic. Very elegant. Before I began buying them, nobody ever paid attention to to my shoes or sneakers. Now, people actually stop me and ask me what I am wearing. I prefer those that are not suede, but I will wear those with no problem. They are made in Portugal, and extremely well crafted. These are not cheap shoes or sneakers, but I think they are worth the price. If you go on the Mephisto web site you might get confused and buy sneakers called “Allrounder”. They are made in Vietnam and are about 50% cheaper. They look similar to Mephisto and are actually lighter in weight. I would say the Allrounder are not bad, but you will feel some difference in comfort compared to the Mephisto European made product.
